Asbestos is a health risk when fibres are released into the air and breathed in. Some waste recovery centres will accept asbestos on the condition it is compliant.
Asbestos must be securely wrapped and sealed in heavy duty builders plastic to ensure:
1. fibres can't escape
2. it doesn't come apart during transport and handling
3. that there are no sharp edges or corners breaking through
It must be transported and presented in bundles that can be unloaded by the customer without requiring staff assistance and without dropping. Please call the disposal facility 24 hours prior to arriving with the asbestos.
If you have asbestos you need to dispose of, it must be taken to your nearest Asbestos disposal site.
